Dreams and Tiffany chatting it up before bed.

Maybe it was being on the prom committee, or maybe it was because of Sakura, Tiffany, but for some reason Dreams had found herself in possession of a prom ticket and plans to actually go.
“This is gonna be great, “ Tiffany said when Dreams told her. “Me, you, at prom.”
Dream just shrugged.
“But wait, you need a dress!” Tiffany said.
“Uhm,” Dreams said, “no. I”m just gonna wear something I already have, okay?”
Tiffany sighed, “Fine. Just please don’t show up in jeans.”
Dreams laughed, “don’t worry, I’m not gonna embarrass you.”
“I’m gonna keep you to that,” Tiffany said.
Dreams laughed.
When Dreams first met Tiffany she hated her. Back then she was Sakura, who was obsessed with pink and anything Japanese. Dreams had to admit that she liked Tiffany a lot more.
“Hey,” Dreams said, “are you still gonna be Tiffany when we graduate?”
Tiffany shrugged, “maybe, maybe not. You know I don’t know what I’m gonna do after we graduate.”
“Don’t you think it’s a bit weird?” Dream said, “That you changed so suddenly?”
“Yeah, I guess,” Tiffany said, “But I was tired of being Sakura, so I wanted to change. I’ve changed a lot actually. Two years ago I was Isabel, a lover of theatre and France. The year before that I was ‘Princess’ yeah that was probably the worst.”
Dreams laughed, “I’m glad I didn’t know you then.”
“The only thing that has never changed is my favorite color,” Tiffany said, “I still love pink. Maybe I’ll just be Bella after graduation.”
“Bella.” Dreams repeated, “Your real name.”
“I hate that name,” Tiffany laughed, “That’s the reason I changed it in the first place. So maybe I’ll just stay Tiffany.”
“I like Tiffany,” Dreams said.
“Tiffany Chang,” Tiffany said, Chang being her real last name.
Dream laughed, “You’re really weird.”
“Are you gonna miss this place?” Tiffany asked, “When we go off to college?”
“Well since I haven't’ exactly chosen where to go to college yet, I don’t know,” Dreams said. “I could just end up staying here in Broad Meadows attending A.L.U.”
“That would be great,” Tiffany said, grinning, “Me and you going to the same college.”
“Oh god no,” Dreams teased.
“By the way?” Tiffany said, “what do you want to do when you grow up?”
Dreams paused, “Honestly, this might sound a little weird, but I want to be a doctor.”
“Because of dad?” Tiffany said.
Dreams shrugged, “Not really. Though he does have something to do with it. It’s mostly because it just feels right.”
“I always thought you had some secret passion for rock music or something,“ Tiffany said, “You look like you should.”
“You can’t read a book by it’s cover,”  Dreams said.
Tiffany laughed.
“You know you’re really not that bad, Tiffany,” Dreams said.
“Thank you,” Tiffany said.
“Lights out!” their dad called from down the hall where he was surely standing next to the light switch waiting for Dreams and Sakura to go to their respective rooms.
“Good night, sis,” Tiffany said.
“‘Night.” Dream said.
As she drifted off to sleep dreams realised that though she hated A.L. High and the majority of the students she would miss it a bit, but it would be more like missing being a teen.

Prom Dress shopping pt 1

Somehow Dreams had found herself looking through racks of dresses with Tiffany. This was the last place she ever expected herself to be. Even if she went to the prom, she wasn’t gonna wear a dress, and if she did definitely not anything from this store “Clique!”
One of the employees was helping Sakura looking through a catalog of the dresses they have. They were laughing about something. What could be funny about dress shopping.
Oh, wait. Everything.
Dream sighed and continued leafing through the dresses, “you know you have a budget right?”
“Mom said to not worry, and to just find what was right,” Sakura said.
“You’re mom is right,” the saleslady said. “It’s your only prom, and you need to look gorgeous.”
Sakura, oh wait, Tiffany, shot a pointed look to dreams and then smiled at the sales lady.
“Now, I’m super petite as you can see,” Sakura went on. “What should I wear?”
“Something short,” the sales lady said, “And you said you wanted pink, am I right?”
“Of course,” Tiffany said, “I don’t want to be a walking cliche but I just love pink.”
The sales lady laughed and turned a few pages in the catalogue before handing it over to Tiffany, “Those are our most recent stock of pink dresses,” she said.
“Thanks,” Tiffany said.
After about thirty minutes of Dreams being extremely bored Tiffany had three dresses to try on. Dreams followed her and the saleslady into the dressing room area and sat down in one the chair lining the wall.
It took about fifteen minute for Tiffany to get the dress on and finally come out of the dressing room. The first dress wall all pink with a silver jeweled waist.
“This is actually kind of tasteful,” Dream said.
Tiffany ignored her and did a little twirl in front of the mirror.
“It’s a little plain,” Tiffany said, “Next one.”
It took a little less time for her to get the next dress on. This time it was black on top, with a dramatic jeweled waist and a hi-lo pink skirt.
“I like this one,” Tiffany said, twirling in front of the mirrored. “Idk about the hi-lo skirt but, I do like it.”
“I like it,” Dreams said, and she did. At least it had black on it, which would be Dreams favorite color if she didn’t think that it wasn’t actually a color.
“Next,” Tiffany said.
The dress was all bubblegum pink, with jewels covering the whole top, plus a bow, and a fluffy skirt.
“Oh, god no,” Dreams said, covering her eyes, “This is the worst.”
“Shut up,” Tiffany said, twirling once again in front of the mirror. But even though she wanted to disagree with her sister, even she could see it was a bit much.
“Okay, would like to see more dresses?” the sales lady asked, “or are one of these the one?”
Tiffany paused, looking thoughtful. “I don’t know.”
Dreams groaned, she didn’t want to be in this shop much longer so she said, “get the second one, it was the best.”
“But was it The One,” Tiffany asked.
Dreams sighed, it was gonna take awhile for Tiffany to make a decision. Tiffany was terribly indecisive, she always had to have their mom make her decisions.
“I have an idea,” dreams said, “We’ll take picture of all the dresses and ask mom.”
Tiffany grinned, “Yes! Great idea, sis.”
So the hung up all the dresses and took a picture of each of them, then sent them to their mom.
Her mom chose dress three. The bubblegum pink atrocity.
Dreams and Tiffany shared and uncertain look and then glanced back at the painfully pink dress.
“I thought mom had better taste than that,” Dreams said.
“Hey, it was your idea,” Tiffany said.
“Shut up,” Dreams said.
‘What does your heart tell you?” the saleslady asked.
Tiffany shrugged.
Dream sighed.
This was gonna take forever.

Becky, Tiffany, and Purity

Becky
Becky’s parents were strict. Well, not strict, more like overprotective so there were a lot of rules. She had to introduce all her friends to them before she could go anywhere with them, even if it was just out to get ice cream or something like that.
One of the rules was that she couldn’t wear makeup until she was sixteen. So for her sixteenth birthday her older sister got her a basic beauty pack with all of her faves. Becky had no interest in makeup though, she was fine without. But after her sister showed her how to apply everything she noticed that she looked a bit better with it.
Becky was not superficial or shallow. She had always thought that makeup was useless, why wear it if you look good without it. But after seeing herself with it on, the brown eyeliner, because black was too heavy on her light complexion, lip gloss, mascara and a little blush, it all just enhanced her looks.
So she was inspired to change or whole view on makeup and started wearing it everyday. This worried her parents, they thought that the only reason she would wear makeup was to try to pick up boys.
But Becky was smarter then that, she didn’t do things for other people. She started wearing makeup for herself, but it wasn’t like she didn’t notice the different stares. The good stares, unlike the ones she used to get because she was a “nerd.”
It almost felt like because of her makeup she could be popular. Which was dreaming high, obviously since she was a nerd. That was her group, the group of people who spent free time in the library, catching up on their studies.
So you could imagine her shock when Bachelor Carter, a jock and actually popular, walked up to her after school a few days after she started wearing makeup.
“Hey, are you new?” he asked.
“Uhm, no,” she said.
“Oh, never seen you around before,” he said.
“Well, I don’t really hang out with your crowd,” Becky said.
He looked confused for a moment, then suddenly Terrence came running over to them.
“Becky!” he exclaimed.
Bachelor looked Terrence up and down and laughed, “you hang out with the nerds? You’re way too pretty for that.”
And with that he turned and walked away.
“Hey, isn’t he a football player?” Terrence asked, momentarily forgetting what he came here for.
“Yeah,” Becky said, “He thought I was new.”
“Well you sure do look different with that makeup on,” Terrence said, “But not in a bad way.”
“In a really good way,” Barry, who has seemingly just appeared, said.
“Oh, Barry!” Terrence said, “Big news.”
“What?” he asked.
“The movie theatre downtown is playing ‘The history of Aliens.’” Terrence said.
“No way,” Barry said. “We gotta go.”
Becky tuned out a bit, aliens weren’t really her thing but lately Terrence and Barry had been obsessed with them. Plus she couldn’t shake Bachelor’s reaction when he saw Terrence.
“You’re way too pretty for that,” he had said. That line kept repeating in her head over and over for the next few days, sometimes she started to believe it. But she always pushed that thought away, she wasn’t gonna become one of those shallow popular girls.

Tiffany
Tiffany was a follower. She followed trends, nothing was her personal style. Last year she was into Japanese style so she mimicked lolita style, now she was into K-pop so she mimicked whatever they were wearing, especially Girls’ Generation. They were her idols, she wanted to be just like them. So she was.
She wore the same makeup, the same clothes, the same shoes, accessories. Anything they were wearing she was wearing too. She was a mirror of her current obsession.
She was always like this, so the real Tiffany/Sakura/Belle is a mystery. She doesn’t even know.

Purity
Purity liked the simple things in life, like going to lunch with a couple of friends, getting an A plus for a essay she worked all night on, pretty pink nail polish, and the vintage book bag she found at the thrift store for a steal. She didn’t need much more than that.
And really Prom was as simple as it gets, sure it was a big deal and everyone went crazy over it but Purity wasn’t like that. She thought of it as simply the big end of high school dance. So was she going crazy looking for a date, scouring online for the perfect dress?
Yes. She was.
Because she might be simple but after going through her whole high school life hidden in the corners with Payton, this year was different, this year she was going all out.
That’s why even though it was only January Purity and some girls from the A.L. News Committee, or ALNC for short, were gathered together on Jessica Perry’s laptop at lunch and looking at prom dresses.
“Pink is so cliche,” Amanda Leon said, the funny part was that Amanda always wore pink. Today she was wearing a pink t-shirt that read “What are you Looking at?” Amanda thought she was unique, but she really wasn’t.
“Hey, I’m going pink,” Jessica said, “My mom’s stylist said it was my color.”
Amanda and Purity groaned, Jessica always talked about what her mom’s stylist told her. The other day she promised that she would give all of them official reports on what color suited them.
Purity already knew she wanted white, maybe a creamy white so it wouldn’t look so wedding dress-ish.
“What about this?” Jessica said, clicking on a light purple floor length dress that has little rhinestones going down the the skirt.
“Ew,” Amanda said, “My dress is not gonna have a single sparkle on it anywhere. Talk about cliche.”
“It’s prom,” Jessica said, “It’s okay to be cliche. I’m going with glitter, Patricia says it’s okay to go big for prom.”
Patricia was her mom’s stylist.
“What are you looking for?” Amanda asked Purity, who had been silent up until then.
“White, maybe short. Some black details maybe,” Purity said, “Maybe vintage looking. And definitely not wedding dress-ish.”
“Of course,” Jessica said, “When girls come to prom looking like they're about to get married I just shake my head.”
Another thing about Jessica is that she had already been to two proms. Last year and the year before that. She was typical pretty and an easy choice for boys who couldn’t find dates. She never dated these guys, she just went with them so they wouldn’t look like losers, even though bringing a sophomore to prom wasn’t ideal.
“Oooh, look at that one,” Amanda said pointing to a short pink dress that had everything she just called cliche. Realising this she seemed to backtrack, “It’s like so cliche.”
But Purity and Jessica knew better, Amanda was a cliche person trying not to be.
Just then the bell rings and they have to get back to class.
“Hey come by my locker after school,” Jessica said. “You guys can come over after school and meet Patricia. she should be there since Mom has a gala to go to this weekend. Patricia is always there the friday before an important party.”
“Okay,” Amanda and Purity said. And they split up to go to their respective classes.
So yes Purity liked the simple things but to her Prom was pretty simple.

Tiffany Lee, AKA Sakura Mori AKA Belle Chang

Tiffany is more than just a new name. It’s a new me.
Tiffany Lee, AKA Sakura Mori AKA Belle Chang, changed her name this year to fit the new her. Gone were her weeaboo days, she’s moved on to something big and better. Korea. She loved everything about that place, the culture, the music, and, mostly, the people. She was obsessed. Over the summer she had discovered the group Super Junior and ever since then she’s been obsessed with them and everything else Korean.
She thought it would be too obnoxious to change her name to a completely Korean name, so she took the name from her favorite girl from Girls’ Generation, another one of her recent obsessions and paired it with a random Korean last name. Which just happened to also be the last name of her favorite from Super Junior, but she swears it was random.
She spent the first few weeks correcting anyone who called her Sakura, but by now everyone seemed to get it.
“Sakura!”
Well, everyone except Dreams. Tiffany’s annoying step sister who wouldn’t leave her alone about the name change. She wasn’t very fond of the last one either, but she hadn’t known it was fake until it was too late and she was already used to calling her Sakura.
Tiffany ignored her.
“Sakura, I know you’re in there,” Dreams said. And Tiffany was indeed in her bedroom, where Dreams was standing outside the door.
“I’m sorry, who’s Sakura?” Tiffany said.
She could practically hear Dreams roll her eyes, “you’re being a diva.”
“Correction, I’m being me,” Tiffany said.
“Then you’re a diva,” Dreams said, “Look, I really need to borrow your computer.”
Tiffany laughed, Dreams was always downloading viruses so she rarely actually had a computer.
“Don’t laugh,” dream said.
“Well maybe if you called me by my name,” Tiffany said.
“Okay the,” Dream said, “Can I please borrow your computer, Belle?”
“I’m gonna kill you,” Tiffany said.
“Girls, please stop fighting,” their mom called from upstairs, “you’re upsetting Charlie.”
Charlie was the new baby, who was all Tiffany’s mom cared about lately.
“Sakura’s not letting me borrow her computer,” Dreams called back.
“Her name is Tiffany,” her mom replied. Tiffany smiled, sometimes her mom had her back.
“Ugh,” Dreams said, “fine, can I please borrow your computer, Tiffany?”
“Yes.”

Ice Cream; “You’re so weird.”

Becky set her books down on the library table and sat down. She was here to study with Terrence and Barry, but they hadn’t arrived yet. She checked her watch, she wasn’t early so they were late. She sighed and opened her history book and started the chapter they were on.
“So sorry.” Terrence said, running up to the table.
Becky looked up, “you have to be quiet, this is a library.”
“Sorry.” Terrence said again. “Anyway, lets get ice cream.”
“What?” Becky asked, confused. Weren’t they supposed to be studying?
“Ice cream.” Terrence repeated.
“Where is Barry?” Becky said, noticing he wasn’t there.
“Waiting for us outside.” Terrence said.
“Aren’t we supposed to be studying?” She asked.
“Yeah.” Terrence said, shrugging. “After ice cream, come on.”
“You’re so weird.” Becky said, laughing as she gathered her stuff.
“Thanks.” Terrence said. “You too.”
They went outside and Becky waved to Barry who was sitting on a bench.
“Hey.” Barry said. “So, are you guys ready? I’m so hungry.”
“Yep.” Terrence said. “So where do you want to go?”
“Let’s just go the classic.” Barry said. “It’s just around the corner, so we’ll have more time to study.”
“Okay.” Terrence said.
They started down the street to the Ice cream store. It was a small store with no tables, just a counter with stools. A bell rung as they entered and took a seat at the counter, they recognised some kids from school there.
“What would you three like?” Asked the girl behind the counter, she looked familiar.
“Hey, I know you.” Terrence said. “You go to our school, don’t you? The girl with the pink streaks.”
“You recognise me?” She said, sounding shocked.
“Yeah, you’re pretty recognisable.” Terrence said. “Sakura, right?”
“Yep, you are?” She said, looking embarrassed for not recognising him.
“Terrence Williams.” Terrence said. “And this is Barry and Becky.”
“Hi, so what would you guys like?” She asked.
“Vanilla.” Becky said.
“Chocolate.” Terrence said.
“Mint Chip.” Barry said.
“Okay, I’ll be back.” Sakura said, heading into the back.
It was not Long till she came back handing each one of them a ice cream cone. Terrence payed then they left and headed back for the library. The ate the ice cream silently on the way there and were all done when they arrived at the library.
“I don’t want to study.” Barry said suddenly as they stood in front of the library.
“Do you want to fail?” Terrence said.
“Maybe.” Barry said, shrugging.
Becky laughed, “Is that why we went to get ice cream, procrastinating?”
“Sort of.” Barry said.
“You’re so evil.“ Becky said. “It’s sort of late anyway, let’s meet up tomorrow?”
“Sure.” Barry said, smiling at her. “See you tomorrow.”
“You too.” Becky called as she started back on the way home.
