My Christmas Wishlist pt 3; "Almost as good as the presents.”

Fedora was rummaging the fridge when the phone rang, she called someone to answer it, though she was in the same room as the phone.
Her mom came into the kitchen and glared at her before answering the phone.
“Hello,” she said.
“Ah, of course.”
“Tonight?”
“We’ll be there.”
“Who was it?” Fedora asked as her mom hung up the phone.
“Laura,” her mom said.
“Auntie?” Fedora asked, she never really called her by her real name.
“Yes,” her mom said.
“What did she want?” Fedora asked.
“She invited us over for a decorating party,” her mom said.
“Oh,” Fedora said, she had forgotten about their annual decorating party. “Are bentley and his dad invited too?”
“Of course,” her mom said.
Fedora shrugged, “can I bring someone?”
“I guess,” her mom said, “Laura never complains about more people, she would probably appreciate it.”
“Great,” Fedora said. She skipped out or the kitchen and up to her room thinking about who to invite, Bryan was probably already invited. Fedora’s aunt was really close with his mom, who was also Fedora’s aunt. She could invite Sacia though, Sacia was having family problems and Fedora really wanted to find something to cheer her up. Maybe this will. And she’ll invite AeGuk, she was just over at his house yesterday decorating his tree. She left them both chats, Sacia immediately replied yes and AeGuk replied yes after awhile.

Later the day Harriette went downstairs after getting ready for the party, she wanted to look more festive, she was now wearing one of her new holiday dresses. It was red with lace accents.
She saw that they had finally managed to get the tree up, they had got it a while ago but the decided to not put it up till the decorating party. Collin was sitting on the couch drawing something, by the way he kept looking up at the tree they figured he was drawing the tree. Tamarai and just left the kitchen, Harriette guessed she was helping her mom with the baking, they always had cookies at their decorating parties.
She walked up to Collin and poked him, “what are you doing?”
Collin looked up at her, ”drawing,”
“What are you drawing?” Tamarai asked.
“The tree,” Collin said.
“Cool,” Tamarai said.
“Can I see it?” Harriette asked.
“It’s not done,” Collin said.
“So?” Harriette asked,” please?”
“Okay,” Collin said, he handed his sketch pad to Harriette.
“Wow,” Harriette said, the picture was so detailed, it looked just like the tree, and it was not even done.
Tamarai peeked curiously over Harriette’s shoulder, she wanted to see the picture too. She loved Collin’s art. She saw it and smiled, it was so nice. He always did the bets art.
“It’s amazing,” Harriette said, handing the pad back to Collin.
“Thank you,” Collin said.
“Look!” Finn said, pulling on Harriette’s skirt.
“What?” she asked.
“We helped put the tree up,” Willow said, she was sitting next at the coffee table drawing something.
“Yeah,” Finn said.
“You guys did a great job,” Harriette said.
“Thanks,” they said.
“What are you drawing?” Tamarai asked Willow.
“The tree,” Willow said, “I’m going to show it to Lizzie.”
“Can we invite Lizzie?” Finn asked.
“You have to ask mom,” Harriette said.
Finn smiled at her and ran into the kitchen. Willow stayed where she was, concentrating hard on her drawing. Finally she looked up from the drawing and up at the tree.
“I’m done,” Willow said.
“Can i see it?” Tamarai asked.
“Of course,” Willow said. Tamarai picked up the sheet of paper
“It’s cute,” Tamarai said.
“Is it as good as Collin’s?” Willow asked.
“Practically,” Tamarai said, “practice makes perfect.”
Willow beamed up at her and then took the paper and ran into the kitchen to show their mom.
“Children are so easy to please,” Harriette said.
Tamarai laughed.
There was a knock at the door and Harriette went to go get it.
“Oh, hi,” she said when she saw Fedora and the rest of her family on the other side of the door.
“That was the most enthusiastic greeting ever,” Fedora said sarcastically.
“Come in,” Harriette said, “my mom is still in the kitchen, you can go in there if you want to see her.”
“Is that where the food is?” Fedora asked.
Harriette laughed.
“That wasn't a joke,” Fedora said seriously, “I’m hungry and you know my mother, I need cookies.”
“Okay,” Harriette said, amused, “but you have to wait.”
“Ugh,” Fedora said, sitting down next to Collin.
“What’s up?” she asked him.
“Nothing much,” Collin said.
“What are you drawing?” fedora asked.
“The tree,” Collin said, “I just finished.”
“Ooh, can I see it?” Fedora asked.
“Sure,” Collin said handing her the drawing pad.
“Awesome,” Fedora said handing the drawing pad back to Collin.
“Thanks,” Collin said.
Just then Harriette’ mom came from the kitchen with a plate full of cookies, Fedora jumped up as she set them on the coffee table.
“I love Christmas cookies,” Fedora said taking a bunch, “it’s one of my favorite things about Christmas. Almost as good as the presents.”
Harriette laughed.
“Guess what?” Finn asked Harriette.
“What?” Harriette said.
“Mommy said we could invite Lizzy,” Willowsaid.
“Oh, yay,” Harriette said.
“So you can meet her,” Finn said.
“Are you excited?” Willow asked.
“Yep,” Harriette said.
“Who’s Lizzie?” Fedora asked, her mouth full of cookies.
“Lizzie is our new friend,” Finn said.
“She’s so pretty,” Willow said.
“She lives in a huge house,” Finn said.
“She has sisters,” Willow said.
“She’s so awesome,” Finn said.
“Can’t wait to meet her,” Fedora said.
“Yay,” Willow said.
Harriette laughed, her siblings were so excitable.
